6-25-2010 Another Minnesota Chase

Another successful chase in Minnesota. Mike Vetter and I left Sioux Falls shortly after 3pm and headed north on I29 to Brookings, SD. There were storms fireing further north that became tornado warned. Again we didn't get baited away to chase it but continued to just drive around aimlessly. Not really, Mike and I had a discussion earlier about a similar set up we had just chased and it appeared the pattern was the same. We followed almost the exact same route as the 17th. This allowed us perfect position to capture a beautiful tornado just south of Revere, MN. The rotation had very quickly tightened up and produced a beautiful tube. This storm was very HP and we had the brief opportunity to view this in the notch. Other chasers had reported the same tornado only rain wrapped and after talking with others it's sounds as though we captured a gem. We did struggle at that point to stay ahead of it and we able to capture a few funnels before it got dark and we headed for home.

Mike Vetter captured these very impressive photos (more to come)

Revere storm

Hi  Mike-  WOW is all i can say ---wondering if you will be adding more photos of this storm-  We think this is the storm that hit my mom's farm- and seeing more would  my understanding of what happened during - causing the wiping out of 4 of seven buildings and the 100+ trees to be uprooted and gone.  Mom lives on Garden Ave just 1mile south and west of Revere.  Thanks Kim Churchill-Oelfke
